Blackberry oat crumble

My lovely sister brought me some blackberries, so I decided to make a yummy dessert with them. I also used my gluten free flour for the first time! In combination with sweet brown sugar, crunchy oats, and juicy tart blackberries, it turned out wonderful.

Simply mix up filling and crumble topping in separate bowls, then scoop into baking dishes.

Pop into preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until tops are golden brown.

I couldn’t stop eating it. No regrets. 😋

Blackberry Oat Crumble

Ingredients

Blackberry FILLING:

  • 21/2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/8 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 cup all purpose, measure to measure, gluten-free flour

CRISP oat TOPPING:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 3/8 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/8 cup all purpose, measure to measure, gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, cold
  • 1/4 cup crushed almonds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. For the filling – Place fresh blackberries in a bowl. Add sugar and flour, mix until combined. Pour into baking dish.
  3. For the crisp topping – In a mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, and flour. Slowly cut in butter with a fork, until mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir in crushed almonds
  4. Sprinkle the crispy oat topping over blackberry filling.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the fruit is tender and the topping is light brown.
  6. Serve warm!
